EcoPlant® Hong Kong: As a Hong Kong based start-up we are very aware of the increasing possibility that Hong Kong's landfills are going to overfill. As the recycling rate in Hong Kong is low, most plastics end up in landfills. However, most single-use plastics on, which Hong Kong relies heavily on, do not go away for centuries. The challenge has always been finding an appropriate end-of-life option for disposable of plastics.
Around four years ago, Wingram, as a company that was already heavily involved in the bioplastics industry, was invited to collaborate with NAMI to develop a product that could have the potential of saving/protecting existing conventional plastic producers, consumers' convenient and affordable lifestyles, and most of all, the environment. As the product developed, ot became clear that this is a Win-Win solution that allowed for all parties to come out better. The product is now known as Anaerobic Biodegradable Additives (AAB) which aims to provide an end-of-life option for conventional single-use plastics.
Wingram established a new start-up company named NewTech Advance Material Limited in hopes of advancing solutions to existing problems to help benefit consumers, producers, as well as the environment.
It has been an arduous journey to get to the final stage of where the product has been tested and up to international standards (ASTM D5511). There have been many setbacks and challenges we've had to encounter and we've had discouraging results on the way; however, we know that this is just the beginning. Join us on the process to make the world a better place.
With EcoPlant® anaerobic plastic additives for biodegradation (AAB), we seek to provide a means by which future generations can experience what our beautiful Earth has to offer. In particular, our solution is non-destructive to the current generation's modern lifestyles where plastics have played an enormous role in raising our standards of living by being an ultra-versatile and affordable material.
